2 Wheel Films Inc.

I started 2 Wheel Films in early 2005, based on an idea I had been chewing on. I wrote the idea up into a business plan and pitched it around. One fateful day, I was lucky enough to meet my business partner and pitch it to him. The idea started out small and has gradually grown and evolved over time.

I grew up in Duluth, MN. It is a fine place to be from. A recent issue of Outside magazine (August 2007) has rated Duluth quite highly. It wasn't quite that nice when I was there. Following my fourth year at UMD, I left town for the West Coast. After a few years of bouncing around, I graduated from the University of Montana, with a degree in Geology. My first job offer came from Golder Associates in Redmond, WA. And so I found myself out on the West Coast. Soon after arriving, I met the woman who eventually became my wife. We bought our first house and had two kids out there. Redmond was truly a fabulous place to live. There are many pieces of it that we still miss. But the traffic was horrendous and the mist is not to be underestimated. Moss grows very well out there. Everything is wet all the time.

After some ups and downs, I started looking for a job back in the good old midwest, which was suddenly starting to look like a great place for kids and a reasonable life in which you did not need to live in your car in the rain. I found the job and in October of 1998 we moved to Stoughton, WI.

Almost nine years later, we find ourselves firmly entrenched in Stoughton, WI. A third kid came along. So did our little dog. We now find ourselves almost sick of the sun. Sometimes we even miss the mist that Redmond gave us in such abundance.

Last summer, I bumped into a paddlesports enthusiast, Darren Bush, we started another movie production company, Quietwater Films. Our first DVD, "paddling the solo canoe" came out this spring. We must have done something right because it won an award, which was a very pleasant surprise. Custom motorcycles and paddlesports do not often land in the same sentence, but they are two things I enjoy and will continue to do.
