Ron Dayne, one of Wisconsin's best known athletes, played football for the UW Badgers from 1996-1999. During that time he set many records, many of which are still in place years later. He was a key part in making some great Wisconsin memories as a member of two Rose Bowl winning teams in 1999 and 2000.
- Won the 1999 Heisman Trophy, Doak Walker Award and the Maxwell Award as the nation's top college player
- Holds the NCAA Division 1-A regular season rushing record with 6,397 yards
- First player in college history to rush for over 7,000 yards (7,125; including bowl games) in a career
- Set Big Ten all-time records for most rushing attempts (1,220), points (426) and 71 touchdowns (both rushing and total)
- A unanimous All-America and All-Big Ten Conference first-team selection, as a senior in 1999.
- Set or tied 2 NCAA records and 42 school records, joining Alan Ameche as the second Badger to win the Heisman Trophy.
- 1st round pick in the 2000 NFL draft, going to the NY Giants.
